About us
How we work
If you are retaining us for he first time or have maybe even never retained a lawyer, you may be interested in how we usually handle a case. If you have any queries, just give us a call!
Contact
First of all, we note down your personal contact details where we can reach you in the future. On this occasion, you can inform us of who is "on the other side" of the legal dispute. In this way, we can ensure that we are not already representing your opponent. We do that either by telephone or you just send us the completed client form that you can find here as a PDF (German) file.
We are looking forward to your case
Of course we are interested in how your case looks from your point
of view. That is why we are anxious to find out your description either
by post, email or phone. In this way, we ascertain from the beginning,
which lawyer is best-suited for the case and whether we have to take
immediate measures.
It is of avail for us, if you draw up a brief description of your
case in writing, in which all events are described in chronological
order.
We are also interested in your records
There are documents for every case (for example, letters or contracts or an insurance certificate or a penalty notice...). These documents are important to us to obtain a complete picture of all facts concerning your case. Yet, you should keep the originals as copies are sufficient for us. Of course, we also accept copies in PDF format or by fax!
Read, contemplate, understand and comprehend the case
On the basis of all information you have given us, we will draw up
an individual concept for your case. We check the legal position by
means of the laws, research judgments on similar cases. And we consider
the next steps.
We inform you about the result of this process. We would be glad to
do this by means of a personal appointment. It may suffice to send
you a message in writing.
If it is not a matter of an advisory mandate and you are satisfied
with our advice, this is where the case ends.
We write to the counterparty
If you retain us in a dispute, we will try to settle conflicts out of court. That is the reason why we write to your opponent and point out your legal position. We summon him to act in the way you expect him to. For this purpose, we set a deadline.
We discuss further actions with you
Depending on whether and how the opponent has reacted to our letter within the term, the next steps of the procedure are determined. From our experience, further out-of-court correspondence is only wise if the opponent signalises a certain amount of willingness to come to a settlement in his reply. Otherwise, further correspondence through lawyers mostly only leads to a delay in time, which is why we then recommend taking legal measures.
Here you can learn how working together with you as a client works.
